 Scott Teuscher has been Dane County’s Safety Coordinator since 2006.  In that role, Scott coordinates safety programs and provides technical support regarding occupational health and safety laws across all of Dane County’s departments.  Dane County’s Human Services Department, Parks Department, Sheriff’s Department and Highway Department are among the largest in the State.  The County also has a nursing home, a convention center, the Dane County Regional Airport and the Henry Vilas Zoo.  Prior to coming to Dane County, Scott worked for 20 years at General Motors in Janesville in safety related positions.  He is a graduate of UW Whitewater.

 Holly Hakes is the Executive Director for REALiving, a company with a mission and a passion to help people be their BEST.   REALiving is based in Menomonie, WI, and offers a number of products, including an Employee Assistance Program designed to help businesses support their employees to be their BEST.     

 A passionate public speaker, Holly has used her background in counseling, law enforcement, and human services to help individuals and companies find creative and positive solutions for everyday issues.   Holly is a writer and her contributions are featured in the variety of REALiving publications, including the REALiving Magazine.

 Holly has a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin- Stout and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. 

 12:00 to 12:30Update on Proposed Changes to WI Workers’ Compensation Legislation

 Scott Shaver, Integrated Risk Solutions.  Scott is the Chairperson of the WI Employers for Equitable Workers Compensation. He is a commercial property & casualty insurance professional with over twenty five years of experience providing strategic and operational leadership. Scott has extensive background in commercial insurance including General Liability, Products Liability, Auto, Property and Workers’ Compensation. He has managed a large Workers’ Compensation claim department for a mono-line Workers’ Compensation carrier as well as a corporate self-insured/self-administered claim department with seven locations. Scott assists clients with implementing strategies to better control their cost of risk.

 1:30 to 2:30Conditions Affecting Your Employees’ Fitness to Operate a Motor Vehicle

 Jodi has been a Senior Risk Management Consultant with Aegis Corporation for the past sixteen years.  Her duties include providing liability and Workers’ Compensation training programs for both administrative staff and employees.  These trainings vary from liability issues such as workplace bullying and diversity/sensitivity training to employee safety training topics such as chainsaw safety, personal protective equipment and hazard communication.  Other responsibilities include implementing, directing and participating in safety and risk management committees.  Identification of loss trends and providing solutions to eliminate exposures to the staff and public are an essential part of Jodi’s responsibilities.   

 Jodi has presented at National and International Conferences such as PRIMA and ASBO.  She is an ALiCE training instructor.  Jodi is an OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer to Conduct 10 & 30 Hour Courses.  She served as Past President for the Wisconsin School Safety Coordinators Association (WSSCA) and is a current Advisor. She is Co-Chair of Wisconsin Association of School Business Official’s Risk Management & Safety Committee.  Jodi has obtained the WSSCA School Safety & Security Certification.  She is a Certified School Risk Manager and Certified Playground Safety Inspector.  She has a Master of Science degree in Occupational Safety from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
